It is Well with my Soul

I read some other blogs the other day and was reminded that some people are great writers, I am not. However I enjoy reading other people's blogs so maybe someone will enjoy reading mine.

Last night I went to see The Dirt and the Flood (http://www.myspace.com/thedirtandtheflood) in Greenville at their CD release show. They put on a great show and their music sounded great but their encore was the absolute coolest part of the show. After their set, they came back for an encore of 2 songs. Before the second song they talked about how wanted to play this song as a celebration of how far they had come and finished the show with "It is Well With my Soul." If you don't know the song, it says 'Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, oh my soul.' Not only did they play it but they absolutely jammed and sang their hearts out. I don't think they title themselves as a Christian band but it was so great to watch them glorify the kingdom with their music and give God all the credit.

Interesting fact about me: my first speeding ticket was on super bowl sunday 2004, the same super bowl with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson at halftime.

Let's hope for some good commercials and don't speed today. In honor of Jason and Colleen, who both wore their steelers jerseys to church this morning...Go Steelers.
