Mt. Warning has been on the 'to do list' for a while now so with no waves this week, we set out to conquer it. Due to it's location and height, the peak of Mt. Warning is the first place in Australia to see the sun every morning.
Anyway Caleb, Rebecca, Roie, Ben and I set out for the adventure on Saturday. The hike was nice until we got to about the last 200 yards and the hiking changed to climbing up a rock face. Everyone made it up and the view from the top was pretty spectacular. We could see the coastline from Byron Bay all the way up to Surfers Paradise. It was also very cool to have a 360 degree view from the top.
Some of you may know that I took an Entrepreneurship class my last semester at Clemson that was by far my favorite class of my college career. From that class, I've gained a pretty strong interest in entrepreneurship. I haven't come up with that million dollar idea yet, but I try to keep my ears open every day for the right thing to come along. Until that happens, my interest has taken the form of learning about other people's business start ups. I met a guy in the hostel this week from California that took an idea from his college entrepreneurship class and put it into action. The product is a dog collar with a retractable bottle opener on it. A simple idea, but when he went into it whole heartedly, it has become a successful small business. Check out his website at Bark For Beer.
Living with people from all over the world, you can imagine that there is lots of hype in the hostel about the world cup coming up. Outside the USA, people are pretty passionate about their soccer (or football). It will be fun to watch it with representatives from all different countries.

Tell Caleb that maybe at least a trim on that beard would be good... just a thought.
