While I've been holding onto hope that one day soon I would be able to relax behind my laptop with powerfull wireless internet and a full battery to upload all the pictures and videos I would ever want to, that dream is no more. When I retured from Collaroy Beach last week, I opened my computer to some bizzare settings and a battery that refuses to charge. Apparently my computer crashed while I was gone. Luckily I had all my stuff backed up, but the battery is done and it will no longer connect to the internet.
So I am left to campus computers at the University of Newcastle, Australia thanks to Cameron's student status. Pictures will have to wait even longer.
Saturday, some of the Clemson crowd took a tour of the Hunter Valley wine region. An air conditioned (you take it for granted) van picked us up in Newcastle and drove us about an hour to Hunter Valley. It's a wine region with tons of vineyards that produce wine for Australia and to export around the world. We went to several different vineyards to see their operations and taste their wines. We sampled some local cheeses and chocolates. The vineyards were georgeous and the entire day was a lot fun.
Sunday after church the guys went with some of our friends to the Stockton sand dunes. They are sand dunes that stretch for miles and miles right along the ocean. People were all over the dunes riding dirtbikes and 4wheelers. We took our friend Pedr's Land Cruiser and some body boards and an old surfboard. We rode the boards down the dunes and had way too much fun. Then Pedr tied a tow rope to the back of his car pulled us around. We've been wiping sand out of our ears, and noses and hair ever since. It was definitely worth it though.
It looks like this may be our last week in newcastle before we head out to some other adventures. This week will be a serious week of online/phone job hunting.
Taylor and David have some pictures on facebook. Check them out.
