Life on the Gold Coast

Well the most significant change since the last post is our loss of a man. Taylor has decided to head back to the USA. On Friday he left us for Newcastle to spend a few days before he flys back to the US on wednesday. He will be missed but I know he'll be glad to get back home.

Caleb and I have continued to cover the Gold Coast in our resumes. A typical day is to wake up for free breakfast! at the hostel and then take a shuttle to town (about a 5 min drive or 20 min walk). In town we walk around talking to people and handing out resumes and we usually stop for a 2 hour break at the library for free internet. That includes some email and facebook time as well as applying for jobs online. The library is on the third floor of a building right on the beach so we look out at some great surf. It's near torture, but we know we have to find someway to get money in the bank.

Yesterday we went to Generation Church where we met some more awesome people. After church we went to a couple's house and had lunch with a group of people from church. They brought us back to the hostel for an essential afternoon nap and picked us up again for the night service. In the morning service they told us we had to go to the night service at another campus because it was for 18-30 year olds. It was probably about 200 18-30 year olds with great worship and a message of "10 things guys need to know about girls." Yea, I learned a few things.

We met some great people and have seen several of them in town today. It's a good feeling to start running into people you know. That's the short story for now.
