Sunday morning, Caleb and I checked out of the Cooly YHA, said our goodbyes to the hostel crew, and moved our lives back into Portugal. We headed straight for the airport to pick up Jamie and then South to Angourie for the night.
The road trip south took a little longer than we expected but we got to see some world class surf breaks including Lennox Head (which was going off!!!) and Angourie Point. In Angourie we found some cliff jumps and a local guy let us know we had found the small ones but there were some bigger ones around the corner. He pointed us over to the big ones and made it sound like he did them all the time. After getting another local to show us how to climb the sketchy cliffs and where to jump off, we did them. After getting back on dry land we saw the first guy who had pointed us over to them. I asked when the last he had done them was and he laughed and said...are you crazy, I would never do that.
That night we were literally homeless as we camped out in Angourie. We had everything we own in the car. Although it wasn't too bad going to sleep, we woke up cold and excited to be heading to the Hyatt for our next few nights. Jamie works for Hyatt in Seattle so he has hooked us up with 5 free nights at 2 different Hyatts.
From Angourie we drove to the Hyatt at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast. From the second we pulled up in 'ole Portugal, we knew we were out of place...and we loved every minute of it. We're not just talking Hyatt the hotel, this was Hyatt the resort. As members of the 'regency club' we thoroughly enjoyed our free drinks and h'orderves (dinner for us) and mingling with the elite. That night we walked the docks in the harbor and all the yachts they had to offer.

Day 2 we woke up and explored the resort including the lagoon style pool, the heated pool, and the hot tub. Later in the afternoon we drove to Mt. Tambourine, found a rope swing and did a little hiking. That night we enjoyed another night of luxury. The next morning was a highlight of the week. As members of the 'regency club' we were treated to the breakfast buffet of a lifetime! Just to name a few, we're talking pancakes, bacon, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs, hash browns, yogurt, cereal, fruit, fresh squeezed juices and everything else we wanted. Not knowing when our next free meal would be, we all loaded up until we couldn't eat anymore or fit anything else into our pockets.
We found a little time to spend in the hot tub before we packed up and made our way north to the Sunshine Coast Hyatt. We've been here for 1 night and we've got one more to go. It has still been a life of luxury and we also have an amazing breakfast spread here but tomorrow we move back down to the Gold Coast for one more night at Sanctuary Cove.
Enough for now, I'll update on our Sunshine Coast adventures soon. We've also taken plenty of pictures and video over the last few days so we will get those up as soon as possible.
From life on the road,
